For those of you who’ve had a chance to get your hands on an iPad 2, you probably weren’t disappointed on the whole. After all it has a faster processor, has two cameras (abeit not exactly great ones) and is lighter.
It’s value is further highlighted especially after the recent launch of the so called “iPad killers” in the form of the Motorola Zoom, RIM’s Playbook, and most recently HP’s TouchPad. The jury says that the iPad is still ahead overall.
If the iPad 2 is already so cool, what might we expect from the iPad 3 next year and the iPad 4 in 2013? Just thinking about those must make die hard techies and Apple watchers giddy with anticipation as they let their imagination run free, and we’re talking way beyond just getting it in white. Let’s let it rip.
Being a bit lighter overall with an even faster chip are givens. Imagine a 3D camera and screen for the iPad 3. Think of all the videos and apps that would result. Are you drooling already?
What about the iPad 4 then? Maybe its screen would be already made of some of these new materials – currently being developed – that will allow it to be rolled up like a sheet of paper but which can also become stiff like a regular tablet with a simple tap. Perhaps they would also more energy efficient that it’s batteries could be partially or entirely solar-powered.
Ok, maybe those are more for an iPad 5 or 6. Probably better not get into that one yet right now. At any rate, we’ll have to wait a year and two to find out.
