Go to Jail, Free Parking, Chance, and Community Chest: Sounds familiar? How about Deal Breaker, Just Say No, Debt Collector? If you haven’t heard those terms then you haven’t probably played the card game Monopoly Deal. Monopoly Deal is a card game derived from the board game Monopoly. It is produced and sold by Parker Brothers under Hasbro.
Players ranging from 2-6 can play this card game. The deck has 110 cards including the simple rule cards for reference to players who are just beginning to play the game. There are three kinds of cards: Money, Action and Property. Money cards are used to pay to your opponent whenever they use action cards or to pay rent. Action cards are used to opponents to steal or trade property, pay rent or just make them pay. Property cards are the most critical material in the game. Without them you won’t be able to win. The player who gets 3 full sets of different colored properties wins the game. There are action cards that, when used, change the course of the game. An example is the sly deal card; it lets you get a property that isn’t part of a set away from your opponent. Forced deal card is similar to the sly deal but you also need to give a property to your opponent. There are also action cards that only let opponents pay money like Debt Collector and it’s my birthday card. But the most powerful action card in the game is the Deal Breaker because it let’s you steal the whole set of colored property of your opponent. But don’t worry; there is an action card that counters the Deal Breaker, which is the Just Say No card. It let’s you counter all action cards against you. It doesn’t only counter the Deal Breaker card but any action card against you.
Monopoly Deal is great game for everyone. Play it with friends or family, you will not get bored with this card game.
