With all the mystery and hype surrounding the pre-launch of any Apple product, most people are wondering what it will really be like. Sales of the iPhone 4 have slowed, perhaps partially due to the slew of new smartphones that recently came out – most notably those from Samsung, Nokia, and HTC – and also in anticipation of the new model.
But most watchers predict that the new phone will have a bigger screen, similar in size to the Lumia 900 of Nokia and the Galaxy S3 of Samsung. The latter company, by the way, is the one that makes the screens for Apple’s phones and tablets, despite their well-publicized tussle in courtrooms all over the world.
The latest incarnation’s screen, in addition to being larger, will also likely have the same crisp resolution as the latest iPad.
What else? They already have Siri, so maybe there might be a souped up assistant, Siri 2?
At any rate, there are many rumors about it what it will ultimately have. One of the more interesting ones is about the ability to project holograms (see http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-08-07/why-apple-will-turn-to-holograms), which although would be another game changer, might be more for iPhone 6.
We’ll just have to wait and see, perhaps next month.
